How did your baking career come to be?
I began baking on a whim after googling "rolled sugar cookies." The rest was history! I have always loved to cook, and I love to paint and draw, so this was the PERFECT combination of two things I love to do!
Where do you get inspiration for all the lovely designs you create?
I get my inspiration from everywhere! My camera roll on my phone is full of random snapshots of things I see when I am out and about that I just know would make the cutest cookie. From clipart, to every day things around my house, I am always looking for new fun designs.
How do you keep from eating all the treats!?
Truthfully, I don't hardly ever eat my cookies! My kids snatch any extras up and eat them before I get a chance! I do eat the other stuff I bake, but I eat it all in moderation for the most part. (Chocolate chip cookie dough doesn't count, there's no such thing as moderation there). ;)
What’s the most intricate and time consuming cookie design you’ve done to date?
The most time consuming and intricate design I've done so far would probably be anything character. Faces are extremely hard to make look "right" with icing. Anna & Elsa from Frozen, and My Little Ponies are probably the most time consuming.
For interested readers, what’s the best way to place an order?
Right now, I don't take custom orders from the public. I am a stay at home Mom of three little ones! BUT, I offer Flash Sales of premade cookies on my Instagram @doughmestichousewife. Each month I offer cookies coordinating with the holiday coming up. I also offer pop up flash sales inbetween!
